Gotta love when poems write themselves! 🙂 Watched Tombstone, and then stepped outside.
There it was…
Or maybe I’ve been hanging out at Darc’s place too much and now I notice these things….hmmm….
Caught a falling star
shot down, in blaze of glory
A wild western night

I like this a lot! I love Haiku, one of the most difficult things to write.

Thank you Edith! This one was a gift–it wrote itself! Happy to “meet” you 🙂

This is AWESOME! And inspired by Tombstone? How much more could this rock?
Inspired by guns,
Six-shooter symbols roar bright,
Makes brilliant haiku!
And thanks for the hat-tip.

Ohhh Darc be careful–your letting the secret of your poetic talent out!
Yes–inspired by Tombstone.
It’s a huckleberry for sure 😉

You can both be my Huckleberry! I can’t figure out why the haiku is still the most difficult for me. “A wild western night” – awesome! And one of my favorite kinds.

Thanks J 🙂 Haikus are deceptively difficult. The whole nature/seasonal reference, “strike” word (or whatever they call it, escaping me at the moment), syllable count…HARD! I think yours are wonderful:)

ooooh, haiku! I actually have the neatest story ever written in haiku. (Zombie Haiku at Borders right now. My boyfriend actually picked it up and read the whole thing aloud in one sitting. This from the guy who hasn’t read since Dr. Seuss came out..

“shot down, in a blaze of glory” Perfect! I think that star fell just for you.

Hi Linda! Yes–it was perfect timing, and stunning. Very cool 🙂

This one rocked for sure! Powerpacked three liner action! 🙂
Great work…

I just caught up on so many of your posts – and I saw your poem on voxpoetica. 🙂
I’m glad you accompanied my morning coffee today!

Hi Amy,
Nice to see you here again and even better that we shared a virtual cup of coffee. I’ve added you to my blogroll–hope that’s ok. 🙂

Heh, high midnight shootout between stars… “This universe ain’t big enough fer the ten trillion of us!”

Spoken like a true cowboy, Joseph 😉

I love the simpleness of Haiku and I find myself utterly incapable of writing them, being all to ready to wrtap what ever small idea I have in a a tangle of words. Good job. (And yes, the best things are those things that write themselves.)
And for Joseph Harker … One more Pun like that and you will be PUNished.
