When my mind writes
Cinquains that make no sense
And blackmails restless hands to form

Fried Day:
When my mind writes
Cinquains that make no sense
And blackmails restless hands to form
Dumb thoughts.

“Blackmails” sounds ominous. Keep writing, something sweet will come.
October 2, 2009 at 8:49 pm
Oh, it is ominous! If I didn’t write, I’d be doing laundry. So I decided to inflict my restless hands on all of you:)
October 2, 2009 at 10:38 pm
I had to look up “Cinquains” — I really know little about poetry. Having said that, I like it! 🙂
October 2, 2009 at 10:46 pm
Well then I’m happy I could introduce you to the cinquain. You will not find a worse one, I promise;)
Happy to see you…it’s been a while!

Been out of sorts lately and just now trying to get back into blogging. Soon I’ll attempt to post something substantial. 🙂
October 2, 2009 at 11:17 pm
I can relate! I figured I’d start with a post, worry about the “substantial” part later. 🙂

Greetings. I have been shamelessly piggybacking from Jaymie’s blog and checking out new sources of inspiration — yours definitely has been worth the looksie! I shall return.
October 6, 2009 at 1:53 pm
Hi Purple! Happy to meet you! Thank you and welcome to this little space:)
October 3, 2009 at 1:20 am
Ah, the things you create when fried! Much better than that old southern Sanders fellow, what with his chickens and such. Well done!
Yes, I mean it. I liked it. 🙂
October 6, 2009 at 1:53 pm
Ha! I prefer the chicken man:)
October 3, 2009 at 11:01 am
Wonderful and completely relatable! Is that a word?
October 6, 2009 at 1:54 pm
Yep, it’s a word J–just one of those words that looks mispelled when you write it down. If you can relate, I haven’t seen any evidence of it…;)
October 3, 2009 at 5:08 pm
LOL That is awesome! I love it! 😀
October 6, 2009 at 1:55 pm
Thanks Falc. Damn brain. Still can’t think!
October 3, 2009 at 5:44 pm
This made me laugh, because although it’s comic, there is some truth to this on those bad writer days. I know this because I’ve been having seven in a row. Fried day, LOL Loved it.
October 6, 2009 at 1:56 pm
Having way too many over here too, Val. Language is failing me these days, and I am having a hard time articulating anything. I’ll chalk it up to a mother’s exhaustion 😉
October 3, 2009 at 7:22 pm
If everyone trotted out perfect poetry every day, there’d be no standard to judge oneself against. And this is by no means a bad poem; even the ones that feel like they’re just dumped out from the brain can have clever turns of phrase and some humor (as here). I wish you a less fried tomorrow. 🙂
October 6, 2009 at 1:57 pm
Well, Joseph, I’ve never seen anything remotely fried come from you, master poet. Your bad poetry would probably be something I’d be so proud of writing I’d frame:)
October 4, 2009 at 6:58 am
Ahh we’ve all experienced a Fried Day…or week…or month…or two.
Remember: Some people like charcoal ! It’s all a matter of taste 🙂
October 6, 2009 at 1:58 pm
That’s true, Colleen:) Charcoal can be good! BTW–I read Chloe’s poem, and WOW she is well on her way to being a fantastic poet. You must be so incredibly proud. Please give her a hug for me:)
October 4, 2009 at 2:32 pm
oh my – I wish I didn’t find myself smiling this dark smile, thinking crisp thoughts. we are the beneficiaries of the blackmail.
October 6, 2009 at 1:59 pm
😉 You must have an evil side, too, Jpen 😉
October 4, 2009 at 9:35 pm
fried day. i like that. lol
October 6, 2009 at 2:00 pm
Charles how the heck are you??
October 5, 2009 at 1:47 am
“all false in some sense, meaningless in some sense, true and false in some sense, true and meaningless in some sense, false and meaningless in some sense, and true and false and meaningless in some sense.”
October 6, 2009 at 2:01 pm
Oh wow, Mariana…I can’t even begin to contemplate this today, as I am still fried:) But even in this state I can see the truth in your words.
October 6, 2009 at 11:01 am
brilliantly worded
your fried day serves up richness
that feeds writers well
Yep. Yep. Yep. I’ve had one too many of those! Thank You and Cheers All!
October 6, 2009 at 2:01 pm
Hi Bliss, thank you for the lovely little haiku. Glad you stopped by:)
October 6, 2009 at 7:40 pm
Dani, you can be my Girl Fried Day any day honey, you never fail to bring a smile to my face. This is short, sweet and very clever my friend 😀
October 6, 2009 at 9:36 pm
You’re the best, Jools 🙂
October 7, 2009 at 2:06 pm
Oh Danielle I love this. I love this. How universal for everyone to know how much more alike we are than different.
October 8, 2009 at 2:29 pm
Umm, okay… the “pathetic poetry” theme manages to be quite stunning… in the way it describes something so “relatable”!!
October 10, 2009 at 4:19 pm
LOL DL…well I’m glad you liked it. It sure felt pathetic to me, but I’m glad I’m not alone:)
