Greetings all!
Some of you may know that I’ve been looking for work for almost 9 months. Well, I found some–temporary and a short term project, but at least it is “real work” that pays.
This is decidedly good. 😀
Of course, having a “real job” means I am not going to be able to spend as much time hanging out with my buddies here in cyberspace. This, to me, is bad…really bad. I enjoy our discussions immensely. 😦
What’s a girl to do? I guess the only choice I have is to attempt to burn the midnight oil to squeeze in some reading and writing time. I just don’t think I can put aside blogging and commenting for a few weeks. Nope, can’t do it. So I’m giving you all fair warning that my comments or posts may seem like they were written by a sleep-deprived, stressed out lunatic who is trying to adjust to a work schedule.
In short–this could get ugly. Bear with me, friends 🙂
Good vibes out to all! For now, I’ll leave you with another of my favorite poems by Hafiz. I actually have it on my “inkspot” page, but it bears repeating:
Even after all this time
The sun never says to the earth,
“You owe Me.”
Look what happens with
A love like that,
It lights the Whole Sky.
– Hafiz

Congrats on the “real” job. Hope you can adjust quickly to your schedule change. And thank you for sharing the poem … “a love like that” ah, yes.

I forgot to say I like your banner. Immediately, I heard Cat Steven’s sing, “Morning has broken…”

Congratulations! And you never know… hell, I’m at work right now, and do some of my best thinking when I’m sitting at my desk with nothing to do. 😉
Thanks for the Hafiz as well, hadn’t heard that one before…

Joseph, I know what you mean. Now that I don’t have as much time I fully anticipate being attacked by the muse. You know how it goes…
Glad you liked the Hafiz–it’s one of my favorites 🙂

CONGRATULATIONS, Danielle! I didn’t realize you were out of work for so long! A person of your skill and talent should’ve been employed a LOOOOONNG time ago!
I’m happy for you, but I’m going to miss seeing you around my blog. 😦 I’m so glad things are turning your way at last!
😀

Aww..you’re too kind Darc. Thank you. It’s hard to find work in Staffing during a recession, that’s for sure. I appreciate the vote of confidence 🙂
August 12, 2009 at 1:45 pm
That is exceptional news Danielle! I know what it’s like to be out of work. Out of work=depressing and scary. I’m also happy you are going to do your best to keep writing and posting, but if you miss a few days, don’t sweat the small stuff. We’ll still be here when you are ready to post more. HUGS 🙂
August 12, 2009 at 5:43 pm
Thanks, Val. Yes, it is depressing and scary. Hopefully things in my industry are on the upswing. Time will tell….HUGS right back at ya 🙂

Way cool! I’m hoping to hear back next week on a temporary gig. Wow, you have back to school stuff coming up too, don’t you? Looking forward to the lunatic posts but if it turns to stress slow it down. You will always have an audience here.
August 12, 2009 at 5:44 pm
LOL–lunatic posts are fun! ha ha ha! Yes, school is starting soon, so I’m sure it will be hectic. I work from home though, so it may actually help with the exception of the drop off/pick-ups 🙂
Keep us posted on the temp gig!
August 12, 2009 at 5:57 pm
Congrats on the job! ^^ That is really really really good news! =DD Though we will miss the energetic and un-sleep deprived Danielle. =[ It’s okay, supportin’ you all the way ^^. Have fun at work!

Oh, I don’t know…the lunatic Danielle can be interesting too:) Thank you so much…I’ll be around as much as I can. 😉
August 12, 2009 at 7:12 pm
That’s great news!
Once you get settled, maybe you can use my strategy – when I’m busy at home, I post during lunch hour or surf during breaks.
August 13, 2009 at 3:27 pm
Good idea Pamela! We’ll just call this a late lunch:)
August 12, 2009 at 9:18 pm
My heart just smiled – so glad for your good news – and that Hafiz poem! Can it get any better???
August 13, 2009 at 3:28 pm
Welcome April! Thank you 🙂 I adore this poem. So glad you do too….I’ll have to come visit you when I have some time to read!
August 13, 2009 at 4:22 am
Yay for finding work! I’m so happy for you! 😀
August 13, 2009 at 3:28 pm
Thanks Falcon. One day at a time…hope it lasts:)

Congratulations Danielle,
I too know what it’s like to be of of work; not good for the mind, as well as the bills.
A great deal of my poetry pops into my head while I’m working. The boredom of work can be creatively inspiring.
August 13, 2009 at 3:29 pm
Oh yes, the boredom of work….I know it all so well. Perhaps my muse will pay me a visit now 🙂

i think something is better than nothing which is more than some people have right now if they ever try to look for something that they are fastly becoming nothing which is why i am looking for another place to stay.
so if you have room in your garage drop me a note.
August 13, 2009 at 3:31 pm
Hi Charles! Where have you been hiding out my friend??? Glad to see you back….
You are right–I am so grateful to have something–anything, right now. And if I ever get that damn garage cleaned out, it’s all yours:)
August 13, 2009 at 11:29 pm
Congratulations on the new job Danielle! And welcome to the world of the sleep-deprived and time-challenged! Insomnia is a wonderful thing!
August 14, 2009 at 10:43 am
Unfortunately I am both of those without working, so I know I’m in for a real treat now:0 Nice to see you Annmarie!
August 15, 2009 at 12:39 pm
My thoughts and prayers go out to you Danielle.
I’ll be burning the midnight oil in a few days too since I’m attending college full-time and taking classes like Calculus, Marketing, Business Writing, etc…
I do some of my best thinking in the middle of the night into early morning, and I’m one to stay with a problem until it’s resolved.
Take care!
-Paul

Right back at you, Paul–sounds like you have a lot on your plate. Don’t forget to come up for air every once in a while! 😉

Congratulations on finding a job! One less among our unemployed ranks it definitely a good thing! As good as your writing is, I am confident it won’t suffer. In fact, maybe this could be a good thing. After all, sometimes having “all the time in the world to write” is a double edged sword, no?
Always gotta look on the bright side! 🙂
August 16, 2009 at 11:59 pm
Hi CD! Yes, there is definitely a bright side:) I am finding the inspiration a bit more, that is true…though I think the delivery will most likely be a little…ummm…let’s call it shaky 😉 That’s okay, I just want to keep writing–good or bad–to avoid a slump I can’t get out of…
August 18, 2009 at 1:07 pm
Hey, wish you luck with the project, and hope you can manage all the tasks well.. The poem by Hafiz was cool.. its a beautiful piece that speaks on unconditional love – something that is really, really rare!
August 18, 2009 at 8:43 pm
Thanks so much for all of your wonderful comments DL. Yes, it is rare indeed. I sent you an email, BTW….
August 19, 2009 at 3:42 am
I got the email, thx..
